The study was performed on the website’s database of 26,721 opted-in travelers visiting the area during July 2008 to January 2010. Central and Northeast Florida Destination: Coca Beach
Travelers looking for Cocoa Beach vacation rentals are early planners. About 50.3 percent of these travelers sent inquiries 3 or more months prior to the travel date, 27.72 percent did so within 30 days prior to the arrival date, and 20.12 percent 1 to 2 months in advance.
Cocoa Beach visitors also like to do comparison shopping, as 55.44 percent of those inquiring on vacation homes also accepted to receive offers from hotels and bed and breakfasts. Some 53 percent also inquired on nearby destinations as Merritt Island, Rockledge, Cocoa, Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Melbourne and Melbourne Beach.
In Cocoa Beach families traveling with children accounted for 40.16 percent of the inquiries while 29.56 percent were from couples looking for a romantic getaway. About 26.80 percent were for large groups with four or more people traveling.

Stats on Daytona Beach reveal that 54.44 percent of travelers looking for Daytona Beach vacation rentals were also interested in comparing offers from other accommodation types like hotels and bed and breakfasts.
About 27.24 percent plan their vacation one month in advance, 46.90 percent 3 or more months in advance, and 23.40 percent 1 or 2 months prior to arrival date.
Some 37.55 percent of the inquiries received by Daytona Beach owners were for families with children, 26.30 percent for couples, and 36.12 percent for family reunions and big groups of more than 4 people.
Central and Northeast Florida Destination: New Smyrna Beach
The study shows that 49.61 percent of the travelers looking for New Smyrna Beach vacation rentals showed an interest in comparing offers from other accommodation types like hotels and bed and breakfasts. Also, 35.31 percent were also open to stay in nearby destinations like Ponce Inlet, Port Orange, Daytona Beach Shores and Daytona Beach.
Last minute trips are popular in New Smyrna Beach as 35.50 percent of the inquiries for this destination were received 30 days prior to arrival. 43.52 percent were received 3 or more months in advance, while 18.56 percent started their trip planning efforts 1 to 2 months in advance.
Some 36.37 percent of the inquiries submitted for New Smyrna Beach were for families with children, 31 percent for couples, and 32.35 percent for family reunions and big groups of more than 4 people.
Central and Northeast Florida Destination: St. Augustine
Stats on St. Augustine reveal that 55.63 percent of the trip planners that requested St Augustine vacation rentals were also open to stay in a bed and breakfast or a hotel. 73.42 percent also wanted to receive offers from Crescent Beach and Elkton.
In St. Augustine 37.93 percent of the inquiries requested lodgings with children. Romantic getaways for parties of two accounted for 29.06 percent of the inquiries, while big groups of more than 4 people were 32.93 percent of the inquiries.
Above 35.22 percent of the inquiries were sent 3 months or more prior to the travel date, 19.72 percent were sent 1 to 2 months prior to the travel date, and 42.84 percent were last minutes inquiries sent only one month prior to the travel date.
