These vacation rental analyses have been made publicly available to offer industry experts insightful information regarding comparison shopping needs and vacation planning habits of those in search of vacation rentals in Florida Keys. The study was performed on the website’s database of 21,257 opted-in travelers who visited the Florida Keys area from July 2008 to January 2010.

Florida Keys Destination: Islamorada
Stats on Islamorada revealed that 60.75 percent of the travelers who inquired on Islamorada vacation rentals also wanted to compare offers from vacation rentals, bed and breakfasts, and hotels.
32.12 percent were also interested in receiving offers from Tavernier, Key Largo and Layton Long Key.
Islamorada visitors are early planners. 44.56 percent inquired for rentals 3 or more months in advance. 22.52 percent did it one to two months in advance, and 28.55 percent only 30 days prior to arrival date.
Islamorada is popular among families and couples alike. 34.67 percent of the inquiries were from families planning family vacations with children, 35.47 percent from couples looking for romantic getaways and 29.43 percent from people planning reunions of larger groups.
Florida Keys Destination: Key Largo
Key Largo visitors showed a high interest in comparing offers from different lodging types. 60.88 percent of the travelers looking for Key Largo vacation rentals also accepted to receive offers from hotels and bed and breakfasts. 52.91 percent were also interested in receiving offers from nearby destinations Tavernier and Islamorada.
46.25 percent of those looking for Key Largo vacation rentals sent inquiries three or more months in advance of their stay, 21.20 percent did so within 30 days prior to the arrival date and 28.62 percent was looking one to two months in advance.
Key Largo is a destination for all kinds of travelers. 38.13 percent of the inquiries were for groups of four or more people while 35.54 percent were families with children. 26.24 percent were couples or parties of two.
Florida Keys Destination: Key West
Key West visitors like to shop around. A majority of 70.29 percent of the travelers who inquired on Key West vacation rentals also accepted to receive offers from vacation rentals, bed and breakfasts, and hotels.
A similar pattern showed that 63.94 percent also wanted to receive offers on Lower Keys and Bay Point.
Key West visitors range among early planners and last minute planers. 40.87 percent sent requests 3 or more months in advance; 22.25 percent did it 1-2 months in advanced, and 34.76 percent with only 30 days left for arrival.
The study showed that Key West is popular among big groups and couples. 32.33 percent of the total inquiries were from couples looking for romantic getaways, 16.82 percent were from families planning family vacations with children, 9.13 are solo travelers and 38.16 percent are from people planning family reunions and larger groups with 4 or more adults and children.
Florida Keys Destination: Longboat Key
Longboat Key visitors also showed interest in comparison shopping. Besides inquiring about Longboat Key vacation rentals, 50.46 percent accepted to receive offers from bed and breakfasts, and hotels.
7.86 percent inquired on other nearby destinations like Sarasota, Siesta Key, Bradenton, Bradenton Beach, Palmetto, Osprey, Ellenton, Anna Maria Island, Holmes Beach and Nokomis.
48.12 percent of the inquiries were received 3 or more months in advance; 20.44 percent 1-2 months prior to arrival date, and 27.10 percent were last minute inquiries sent with only 30 days of anticipation.
34.52 percent of the inquiries included children, 41.63 percent were from couples looking for romantic getaways, 22.69 percent were from groups larger than 4 adults and 11.41 percent are solo travelers.
