Rentalo.com promotes affiliate program with referral fee (09/02/2004)

MIAMI -- Rentalo.com, a Web-based directory of vacation rentals, will pay affiliated travel agents $1 per inquiry -- and this is on top of commissions the agencies earn when a booking is made.

Rentalo provides access to nearly 100,000 rental homes, villas, apartments, hotels and B&Bs in 15,000 locations in the U.S. and abroad. Agents do not have to register as affiliates to earn commissions, which range from 5% to 20%.

However, if they sign on (at www.rentalo.com) as affiliates, they can earn the referral fee for each electronic query made about accommodations at a destination (but not queries that go directly to properties) by the agency or by clients using the agency’s Web site to access Rentalo’s site.

Agencies wishing to affiliate must have an active industry certification such as ARC, CLIA or Iatan, but there is no charge to participate. In addition, other travel-related e-commerce sites, such as travel guides, tourist information offices, lodging directories, vacation rental sites and search engines or Web portals, also can join Rentalo’s affiliates program to increase revenues through referrals.
